I’m LaShundra Rucker, entrepreneur, creative thinker, Project Manager, Consultant, Motorcycle Safety Foundation Coach, and...a rider. Like many, I have my own set of life experiences that have led me to where I am now. I’m a firm believer in sharing lessons learned with others. Knowledge is one of the most valuable things around. Second only to influence. Life is not about just gaining the experience, but also what you do with it.
People tell you all the time how to go to school and work hard. No one ever teaches you how to be self-sufficient or to have a business owner mindset or how to truly start a business. You're more than welcome to walk with me on my journey in building a brand. Hopefully, there'll be something of value to you.
For the past 15 years, I've found more value in growing who I am as a person, entrepreneur, and leader than anything else. It's not enough to wake up in the morning, with the same mindset today that I had 10 or 20 years ago. With age should come wisdom, insight, and growth. It's not something to take lightly. That's why I've taken every opportunity to pour into myself through education, training, coaching, and development. This isn't just to be the best person for me...but to be the best for others who I have the privilege of coming in contact with and walking alongside while they're on their journey. Never stop growing. Never stop learning. Never stop sharing.
The Tank Purse is a functional purse with detachable straps that adheres to the motorcycle via magnets. When bikers are considering motorcycle accessories, we look at comfort, space, necessity, and ease of transport. Traditionally, we've been known to carry items in pockets, saddlebags, tank bags, these tiny little trunk spaces (still won’t' be trading my sportbike at any time soon though), and even stuffing bags in jackets just to make it from point A to point B. While I can appreciate the creativity, what I can appreciate more is practicality. That's why the Tank Purse is such a big deal. I recall the days at Bike Week or just running to the post office to pick up mail and didn't want to carry a big bulky item around to carry the items that I needed.
Since I ride motorcycles, I'm part of my own inspiration. A little selfish perhaps, but I'll take it. I was looking for something safer to ride in. I wanted Kevlar jeans, but couldn't seem to find anything that I'd like that was in my size. The more I looked, the more I noticed that there wasn't much that was my size or even style. While of course, anyone can wear anything when on 2...sure. But, I wanted something different. I wanted quality, comfort, style, femininity in my apparel, riding or not. What's more, I wanted items that would fit. When I spoke with other women, I noticed some similarities in needs - sizes, styles, comfort...options. Women wanted options. So that's what I'm here to give - another option.
After coming up with my big idea, the next thought - well...how do I make what I need? I didn't know anything about sewing? I have more of a technical background than anything else. I was able to find designers and manufacturers whose focus was on quality and providing excellent customer service. Through great efforts and consultation, we've determined the best quality and styles to provide. So this upcoming spring, look forward to new designs, fits, styles, and items.
Well of course it is. We have our signature mid-rise skinny jeans, lined with DuPont™ Kevlar® para-aramid fiber. Also, our shirts are longer and designed with comfort in mind. We have motorcycle jackets just for women. What's more, the sizes will range up to a 3X in US sizes. I'm listening to what women want. Finally, there's a patented tank purse. Whenever I ride, I want to be cute, safe, and still carry what's needed. Let's face it, how many times have you needed to carry something other than keys and ID when riding? My cute little motorcycle "trunk" doesn't quite hold everything that I need. Tank purses are a wee bit more of what I'm looking for.
Ride Safe!
